The City Clerk is responsible for record management including archives, contracts, agreements, resolutions, ordinances, minutes, and agendas; and insures the availability of those records to the Council, public, other agencies, and staff.
The Clerk oversees municipal elections, issues business and/or liquor licenses; aids in Council meeting agenda preparation and distribution; and accepts claims for damages and other legal papers served on the City.
The Clerk administers oaths, performs certifications, and administers codification of the City Code.
The Clerk's office oversees, and issues legal notices in compliance with State law for such actions as code changes, rezones, annexations, public notices, and related public hearings; the Clerk administers public bib openings, and is the Custodian of the City Seal.
The Clerk also participates in Local Improvement District activities, and serves as a Notary for official city documents.
